Your Brain is Failing You

OVER THE YEARS I HAVE HAD THE CHANGE TO WORK WITH, MEET AND BE MENTORED BY SOME REMARKABLE PEOPLE. MOST RECENTLY BOB PROCTOR BUT ALSO TONY ROBBINS AND KEITH CUNNINGHAM. IT SEEMS THAT OVER AND OVER THEY ALL COME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION.

My life’s journey has taken me all over the world from living in the streets of India to the rush of London and New York. I notice again and again there are people caught up in their daily lives. Uppermost in everyone’s life is a striving for something more. A drive that has been there so long they don’t even notice its there. They think they should be doing this and that. Some of them even achieve it and more.

The problem is they think they are thinking. The truth is they are reacting. They are reacting to social norms, their peers, their workmate and friends on what is “right and wrong”. This in itself is not the problem. The problem is none of them are really happy. None of them just out of bed with the life and exuberance they had as kids. Their zest for life has gone. Maybe you feel the same.

I went on this myself for the longest time. I rushed around trying to get this and that done…until very recently. I decided I would live my joy. It took a few years to finally crack it but today I live as I choose and know I can be, do and have anything I choose. It excites me so much I have trouble sleeping. I LOVE getting up and getting on with it. I LOVE life.

What was the key? I slowed down. WAY down. And do you know what I discovered? The real me was trying to get through to me the whole time. My peace, passion and joy were always trying to get my attention but I let them be suppressed. We miss out on living because we are so busy out there having a life. Friends, family, TV and internet all vie for our attention. All them ususally win, but how many of us let ourselves just be ourselves?

Here’s the best part. I got more done, I saved time, money and energy. I live with MUCH more joy and peace. All because I chose to sit down in listen to my instinct. My true self was my natural intuition telling EXACTLY what I should be doing each and every moment. It’s simple but not easy.

What should you be doing that you aren’t? How is that affecting your life?

Hi! Great website by the way. Just want to ask a little something about this post. You mentioned “I decided I would live my joy”, and by that, what do you mean exactly? For example, someone’s joy is to play football, you mean that’s what that person has to do? Play football?

And how do you “live your joy” exactly? And more importantly, how do you find out what your joy is?

    Hi Nicole,

Great questions. Apologies for the delay. My site is fairly new and I didn’t realise comments were waiting for approval.

When I say “live my joy” I am aware that I am the creator of my reality. Any given situation can be taken positively and negatively. What I noticed when I focused more on positive, more positive things happened. So when something good happens, it is really good. That does mean if you are meant to find joy in football, play football. If nothing else it will make you a happier (and fitter) person.

Everyday, I do what makes me feel good. All decisions I make are based on this. I have found this has ALWAYS lead me to the right direction.

There are so many ways to find your joy. Firstly, just be aware of all the good things around you. Gratitude is the key. Secondly, LIVE that joy continuously, even if you have no reason too. You will be surprised what comes about. Finally, ACT on your joy. Action is the key to achievement. Thanks for the post
