Nature gave a wonderful gift to most of her little creatures – a gift we call “protective colouring” … so that the deer blends into the forest, the fish into the stream, and the bird into the tree.  But from one notable creature was this gift withheld, so that the human creature stands out like a sore thumb on any sort of terrain.  I believe this is because the human was given a much greater gift.  You and I have the godlike power to make our surroundings change to fit us.  When you change or improve as a person, your environment and surroundings change to reflect this improvement.  Just as you can tell what a business is doing for a community by observing what the community is doing for the business; so can you, with a few notable exceptions, tell what a person is doing for the community by assessing what the community has done for the person.

You can tell a lot about a person by carefully examining their environment.   Contrary to popular belief, people are not the reflection of their environment nearly as much as we might think.  Environment is a reflection of the people.  Change the people for the better, and the environment will change for the better as well.

Watch one person change and that person will leave their old environment and seek out a new one … one that more closely reflects their emerging being.

Our attitude is the environment we carry with us during the day.  It proclaims to the world what we think of ourselves and indicates the sort of person we have made up our minds to be.  It is the person we will become.

Yes, as we look at the fish, the bird or the animals in the wild, we do marvel at how well nature has camouflaged them.  But, don’t you think we should spend a little time being overwhelmed by our great  gift of creative ability … then do all we can to develop and utilize this ability.

Through his audio programs Bob Proctor has challenged me in so many ways about how I think and act, that I KNOW I’m a different person today.

12 months ago, if you told me

-I would meet Bob Proctor

-I would create an online business that breaks even in 4 weeks

-I would have an income that is mostly passive

I would have told you that you have rocks in your head. Not even 4 years ago, I had a 9 to 5 job. I was desparately unhappy, unwell and just gettting by.

So, my mastermind set a goal that would scare us. It had to be measureable. It had to be done by a certain date. We agreed to support each other and to study the Laws of the Universe (including the Law of Attraction). We also agreed to be accountable to each other at any cost. The goal? To have a $1M deal by December 1. None of us were remotely anywhere near earning this amount.

Last week, I was feeling pretty unhappy with myself. I had not got any closer to our goal. Our group was frustrated, unsure, fearful. We even were trying to get out of the promise by re-defining the objective. I admit I was scared. I had no plans, no progress and felt disillusioned….but not for long.

You see there were 3 things that I did that I stuck with for the entire year that made a difference.

-DEFINIITE PURPOSE

-BURNING DESIRE

-GRATITUDE

DEFINITE PURPOSE

A definite purpose is a passion so strong that anything less is unacceptable. It is positively focused. It is the “why” you are here. With a definite purpose, everything becomes clearer. I knew what to do and when to do it. Everyday, I whould spend more time improving my purpose. Each day it will excite me more because I had more detail about what I wanted to do. It provided focus for my work.

BURNING DESIRE

As my definite purpose was clear, it became very easy to maintain my burning desire. It is easier to keep momentum when you know what to do. A burning desire provides the motivation to continue. When things got bad my burning desire remained. When things were good my motivation increased. The key is the emotion you have as you do your work. Your heart and soul go into every single action and that produces extraordinary results.

GRATITUDE

Gratitude is the glue that holds everything together. Its much more fun to be thankful for what you have and what you have achieved. Gratitude keeps the focus on what is right. It keeps you positive. People like to work with other positive people. Getting things done gets easier. Sometimes people will volunteer to work with you because of your attitude. Gratitude holds the vibration high.

If you focus on the 3 aspects above, the Law of Attraction becomes a VERY powerful ally. You have no idea what will come to you but you must persist. My goal took 10 months to achieve. Many times I could not see the outcome but I stayed true to my objective.  Eventually the pieces came together and I knew everything would turn out as I intended.

Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich is well known for understanding the power of the Mastermind. It seems the power players of the business world do too. They all have mentors and coaches and associates who they meet regularly. It is known as the Mastermind. Napoleon Hill states a Mastermind is

“Coordination of knowledge and effort in spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

and

“No two minds come together without thereby creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.”

Why is that? It is because anyone who comes together with a common cause and definite purpose will generate new ideas, perspectives and motivations to achieve that common goal. It is the Law. It would certain make a good follow up for the sequel to The Secret
