HAVE YOU EVER FELT FRUSTRATED BY LIFE? DO YOU FEEL “STUCK” OR LIKE YOU ARE ON A TREADMILL? THERES A LOT OF REASONS YOU MAY NOT BE ACHIEVING WHAT YOU WANT BUT HERE ARE SOME SIMPLE SOLUTIONS.
Why do we struggle so much sometimes? Do you feel life is a drain? It can be frustrating. My research has led to all sorts of systems, techniques and processes. At the end of the end activity overload or information overload means that even the best systems can be stretched.
Below I am going to give you a few tips on making life easier and how you can feel more satisfied with life.
1. Take Stock
What do you want to achieve? What are the reasons you do what you do? You may have objectives in certain categories like career, family, finance and friends. These broad categories are your goal posts. They may be weekly, monthly or annually.
List these objectives and categories.
Next, write down ALL the things you achieive in any given week.
2. Simplify
Now have a look at all the activities you do. How many of them are aligned with your objectives? Does EVERY activity you do aheive your objectives? If not, you need to eliminate the time wasters NOW. Many times we take on too many obligations. Now is you chance to eliminate unecessary activities.
Even better, get someone else to do the time consuming tasks or tasks you don’t like. Work out what you are worth an hour. If any activity you do can be done by someone for less, give it to them. That way you can spend your time doing things you love or things that earn you the most money per hour.
3. Adapt
This exercise if about getting things moving in the right direction. Sometimes you will need to adapt your strategy to achieve your goals. It is not about perfection, it is about making things better than they were.
You may find, for example, that giving someone else the task initially takes longer to do. That is fine, give it a chance to work. That someone may eventually find a faster way to do the task you used to do. You may even find you will have to create a system or process for them (which takes longer again, initially).
Remember this is about incrementally improving your life. Small steps over time equal big gains, long term.
Finally, there is a video to watch. It is just food for thought. The video at the end will explain why we struggle and give us some perspective on life from a teacher called Abraham.
Abraham’s teachings are direct, entertaining and to the point. Even better they are simple to understand in implement.
