Four steps to success

SUCCESS HAS A FORMULA. BY FOLLOWING
THE FOUR STEPS BELOW YOU CAN ACHIEVE

ALL YOU DESIRE.

There is a famous book by Napolean Hill – “Think and
Grow Rich”. He studied the most successful people
of his time. They included Ford, Edison, Rockefeller,
Lincoln etc. He found a common theme among all of
them: Four simple steps. while the book is quite
detailed, the four steps are continually repeated as
below.

Here they are:

  1. A definite purpose backed by burning desire for its fulfilment
  2. A definite plan, expressed in continuous action
  3. a mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences, including negative suggestions of friends, relatives and acquaintances.
  4. A friendly alliances with more than one person who encourage one to follow though with both plan and purpose.

I will go through each one generally and detail them further in other posts.

  1. A definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfilment.

This situation could easily be described as an inspired moment. You HAVE to get up and do something to reach that end. Nothing would stop you and you would have almost infinite energy to keep going. A definite purpose is strong conviction driven by an emotional energy and not will power.

  1. A definite plan expressed in continuous action

A key to reaching your goal is to keep moving, no matter what. Any small action that leads toward your goal gives you motivation to keep going. It does not matter whether the action is the perfect thing to do. The key is the momentum moves you closer. That motion is great feedback and inspiration to keep moving.

  1. A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences.

This is important. Any “negative” self talk or influence from others takes your focus away from your goal. Additionally, you have to spend time rationalizing your goal instead of achieving your goal. Any counter productive thoughts or actions impede your momentum.

  1. Friendly alliances

If you surround yourself with motivating people, you gain ideas, encouragement and further inspiration. The power of your close associations is very powerful. They provide input and support to keep you moving. You also can do the same for them. It is not so much as a committee but a cheer squad with ideas. Take note of who is around you and decide whether they can help you on your quest or hinder (and vice versa).
